Ludwig was on his way to his brother's room when he noticed a door slightly ajar in the Adult Ward. He peeked inside cautiously, wanting to know what the hell the door was doing open, and yet at the same time wanting nothing to do with it. He'd pulled open way too many of his colleagues' doors in his almost four years here…
He breathed a sigh of relief as he noticed one man alone inside, who appeared to be having a panic attack. Those bandages needed to be changed, as well. Perhaps that was the cause of the panic; many patients (and one intern) feared infection like Ludwig himself feared failure.
This was not Ludwig's patient, and therefore not his responsibility, but he felt compelled to help, anyway. This guy (Vash Zwingli, he observed from the nameplate on the wall) may not have been his responsibility now, but if he hyperventilated, he would become Ludwig's responsibility, and Ludwig did not need that.
So he pushed open the door. "Mr. Zwingli, I'm here to replace your bandages," he announced, hoping it would calm the other man.
