Roderich sighed, turning away from the female nurse and back towards Basch, pretending he didn't notice the flirtation. He wasn't sure why she bothered--he personally didn't consider himself very attractive, and he obviously wasn't looking for romance. It'd be bothersome to have to fit that into his work schedule, after all.
"So no one's stepped forward to claim him?" Yet another lovely example of how organized this hospital was, he mentally remarked. There were a lot of people that really ought to get their act together one of these days.
Well, perhaps he could take advantage of this opportunity. It could probably do him some good to have a nurse at his beck and call to do the more unpleasant parts of his job, provided said nurse wasn't going to cause him more trouble than their services were worth.
"Let me see his credentials," he said, raising his free hand expectantly. The nurse ran off a few copies of Basch's records and Roderich skimmed them. Hmm, looked like he'd been to a decent school, and had enough experience to at least know what he was doing. Fine.
"I'll take you," he told Basch. "I'm Dr. Edelstein, infectious disease specialist. You can go change into scrubs down there--second door from the left end of the hall. I recommend you do, as we're going to come in contact with some lovely things today. Have you ever seen acute trichomoniasis?"
