Evening Snack (Matthew) Empty
PostSubject: Evening Snack (Matthew)   Evening Snack (Matthew) EmptyThu Apr 21, 2011 5:38 am

Ivan was hungry. So he was in the cafeterium. Place. Thing. And he'd asked for Matthew to join him, so he was waiting for his beloved... er... Friend. Yeah... To arrive. It was the evening - He should be in bed, really - but Ivan didn't feel like obeying the rules today (when did he ever?) so he came here. Hopefully Matthew wasn't too tired to come.

Ivan had a plate of pancakes just for him. And golden syrup (They didn't have maple). He wanted Matthew to arrive because he wanted to talk with him, and he wanted to do... certain... things with him... But he might have to hold back on those because Matthew was very shy. And it wasn't nice to do things of such a nature to shy people. But Ivan knew he'd do that to Matthew... One day... But those were bad thoughts that would scare Matthew, so he shook them away.

Ivan had his own, very un-Russian like, food. He was branching out. Trying new things. Like bacon and sausages, which apparently came from the same animal, much to Ivan's surprise. They were so different! Perhaps he'd have to question Matthew about that as well. Matthew knew a lot of things, he discovered. So perhaps he knew how this worked.

Now that that was decided, Ivan continued to munch on unusual food and stare at the door, waiting for Matthew's arrival.

Matthew's condition hadn't improved much since his arrival in the white-washed building. His aplastic anemia continued to devour his energy and stamina, while he struggled to fight off the hospital viruses. Luckily, he had been sniffle-free for a few days and was allowed to move around a bit, only with the guidance of a wheelchair and nurse though. His legs were unsteady and becoming thinner by the day. He wondered if he could still run...

He had previously spoken with the nurse about going to the cafeteria because Ivan had invited him there. Perhaps the last incident kept Ivan from unexpectedly entering Mattie's room (and bed). Still, the doctors agreed that Matt could use some fresh air, or at least a break from his confining room. After all, all Matt did was sleep and watch hockey on the old television that had been brought in. Not the normal American teenager. However, Matt was not American.

Matthew yawned once, noting the our. It was later in the day, as it was dark outside. The Canadian boy was aware of the hockey playoff game that night (Boston Bruins vs. Philadelphia Fliers), yet he didn't mind missing it. Sure, he was more than eager to watch it if things didn't work out tonight, but he'd let it slide since Vancouver wasn't playing. Otherwise, the Canucks would have demanded the blond's attention from anything, even surgery.

The boy and his IV were soon pushed through the glass cafeteria doors, soon to be parked by the snow-blond Russian. The nurse cast the older man a wary eye (as more than a few of the hospital staff heard about the incident in the children's ward), but left Matthew there anyways. She quietly whispered that she'd return to take Matthew back to his room at any time if he felt at all uncomfortable, but the Canadian merely smiled and thanked her for her concern as she left. Sure, Ivan was terrifying, but he did provide Matt with some nice company. "Hi Ivan," the boy said quietly, greeting the larger man with a meek, timid smile. He then noticed.... them.

"P-Pancakes?" the Canadian stammered, violet eyes fixated at the heap of fluffy goodness piled on the plate in front of him. His eyes, magnified by his glasses, couldn't get any larger. He rarely had pancakes! Especially for dinner! The blond turned to Ivan, flashing him a genuine, ear-to-ear grin. "Th-Thank you!" he stammered out, looking back to the glorious food.

He fiddled with the sleeve of his coat, getting nervous that Matthew wouldn't show up after all. It wouldn't be much of a surprise, really, not after what Ivan'd done with him last time they'd met (But Ivan saw nothing wrong with it!). He sighed stared at the door some more. Be cool, Ivan, he'll show up... And surprisingly, at that moment, Matthew appeared at the door and went through! Ivan's heart leapt up in delight, and a smile curled on his lips. Perhaps a little more sinister-looking than he'd of liked, but it was a smile nontheless, and that's all that mattered. Matthew was such a delicate soul, it was a pity he was in the hospital for such a condition and Ivan wanted to hug the daylight out of him! ...But he refrained, his hands staying positioned in his lap.

Matthew was taking ages to get to the table, but Ivan mustn't rush him. The boy was allowed to take as long as he wanted to walk! "Hello, Matvey~!" He greeted in responce to the other's arrival. His smile was small and cute, and Ivan was enjoying watching it, but it quickly vanished. That was a dissapointment. However, what wasn't a dissapointment was the look of surprise and delight that replaced it. Ivan knew he'd made an excellent choice and couldn't help the smug feeling swimming around in his gut.

"Da! Pancakes. And all for you." He held out a fork to the excited boy, "Please don't eat too much if you can't take it, I would rather you enjoyed it properly than enjoyed it then made it yourself ill because of it!" He scooted a little closer, wanting to be as close as he can to the other. It was annoying, his wheelchair tended to get in the way. A lot. It had bulky wheels which stuck out at either side with bars around them so that Ivan could feel like a big boy and not need someone else to push him around, and he could be all indipendant and stuff. Frankly, he hated it, and wanted to go back to using crutches. But using crutches either caused his leg to hurt from improper use, or his chest to hurt from putting strain on it.

Inward rant out of the way, Ivan wished he had a camera, for the look that Matthew'd given him just then made Ivan feel almost faint. It was gorgeous. He wanted to reach out and feel the smile. Against his lip-- Bad Ivan! Creepy thoughts weren't allowed tonight, he'd decided that earlier! He nodded and went back to quietly watching the other. He should eat, really, being in the cafeteria, and having his own food, but... His chest had decided to hurt him and Ivan thought it best not to, at least for a few minutes.
