There was hardly anyone outside. It was nice, Gilbert almost felt like he had the entire place to himself. The urge to sit under a tree and take a nap was pretty hard to ignore, but he didn't want to waste his unsupervised outdoors time sleeping. There was plenty of time to sleep and be boring inside the hospital. Instead he should do something awesome, something...to cool down. He felt hot, despite the fact that he was still shivering. Refusing to dwell on the implications of this, he decided to take a walk around the courtyard. Getting exercise would probably fix these weird temperature fluctuations he was experiencing anyway.
As he stood, Gilbert could feel his muscles twinge in pain. It wasn't like the Prussian had been sitting for terribly long, perhaps he needed this walk more than he thought. Stretching carefully, he started down a nearby path, head in the clouds and hands in his pockets. A deep breath sent him into a mini coughing fit, but he didn't let that bring him down. Coughing happened far too often to worry about. The chest pain might be a bit new, but as it was said, "It's usually worse before it gets better" or something like that, right? Or was it..."It gets better before it gets worse?" Or maybe, "If it gets worse it doesn't get better, but that is okay because you are awesome so it doesn't really matter to you, Gilbert?"
He paused in his walk as he contemplated this. Which one was the real one? He was glad no one was around to hear him think out loud. If they heard what he just said, they might think that he was starting to believe he was sick. Frowning, he glared at the ground, "I'm not sick! This is pointless.."
