Introductions, Introductions... [Willem&Jun-Yi&Heracles]

It was nighttime, and the light, cool wind blew in from the slightly opened windows. A deep sigh echoed in the empty, white room as the teen lay in the equally stiff and thick bed, eyes open and staring at the white ceiling. God, everything was white. It was as if he had been thrown upon a cold, winter-like climate; like Siberia, like Antarctica; although it wasn't cold, it was warm. Letting another breath slide out of his lungs, he closed his eyes for a fraction of a second before letting the lids slide upwards once more. He hated this place. The smell, the feel of the rough yet soft linen against his skin, the dreary, yet refreshing white-coloured walls...

So, so confusing.

It was now Nine-O'Clock in the evening, and Jun-Yi was tired. Too tired to move, to speak... It was time for someone to visit, he knew, but something in his head was fuzzy and he couldn't really understand everything that was going on; the bright lamplight at the side was too bright, the painkillers seemed to be kicking in with their drowsy spell... He hated darkness and he was scared of it, too. Although, he wouldn't... He would never tell, unless he absolutely had to.

Waiting for some... Doctor to knock on the door, he waited, fiddling with his sleeves once more. Tick, tock, tick, tock. His Panda plush, Wish, was securely cuddled against his side as he jostled, earning a sharp pain from his legs in return. Puffing his cheeks to gather the air he had gotten to let out a scream, he released it slowly. He could do this.

Finally, the last patient of his day. And it had been a long one too, filled with plenty of annoyances like screaming infants and other annoying staff. Flipping through the patient's chart, he looked through the kid's history. It seemed he was pretty bad off, as most people usually were when they hadn't been at the hospital too long. The fact that he seemed to present with a bit of psychological issues made Willem a bit uneasy, but he tried to brush it off as he approached Jun-Yi's door.

Knocking for a brief moment, he shut the chart and opened the door. If the patient had been asleep, surely he would have been forewarned by a nurse but the light shining brightly put him at ease that at least the kid had to be awake still.

"Jun-Yi?"

His eyes fell on the frail looking boy finally, as he tried very carefully to not mispronounce the name. The doctor quietly stared at him for a moment, careful not to approach him yet.

"My name is doctor Jansen."

Heracles yawned, rolling his shoulders as he picked his stuff up from the nurse's office. It had been a long day and while Heracles loved kids, sometimes they could be a real pain in the butt.

He shook his head and reminded himself that they were energetic because they were all stuck day in and day out and that he was helping them. Nodding to himself, he rounded a corner and stopped, tilting his head to the side to see an open door.

The doors in the children's wing weren't suppose to be left open, since kids were more at risk for catching sickness. He narrowed his eyes, wondering just who had forgotten that rule. Moving closer, he found Dr. Jansen standing in the doorway of Jun-Yi's room. He raised an eyebrow, before smiling. "Hello, Dr. Jansen, Jun. How are the two of you?" He asked, deciding to be polite. Dr. Jansen didn't normally forget, so he could forgoe lecturing the man...This time.

It was obvious to see that the teen had flinched as soon as the voice of another flitted through the cool room. Snapping his closed eyes open, and automatically, he had tried to get up; mayhaps, to scramble for cover or to say a greeting. Both ways, he couldn't do such things -- he was stuck in the bed until morning; he couldn't get up, specifically, without help. At evening, after dinner was served on a little table upon his lap, he was gently removed out of the wheelchair's warm seat and moved to the hard, stiff bed for until morning, in which then, nurses would come to get him into the wheelchair again. That was, his usual actions everyday.

"... Good evening, Doctor." He murmured, blinking once and pressing Wish closer to his chest. When he was about to speak, another person came into the room, and he recognized it to be Heracles Karpusi, the Nurse. Another blink followed, but he nodded and replied, "Hallo, Sir", before looking back at Willem with a serious look. Or, at least he tried to. With his childish, baby-like features, it wasn't easy.

"What is it, ai?"

"Good evening, mister Karpusi." Willem turned his head to address the nurse. It was always a relief to at least have someone around that was around the same age as he was in the staff, since it seemed almost as if everyone else was older. "Things are fine, I think... And how have you been?" The Grecian nurse always seemed a bit quiet to him, but at least he was polite.

He walked up to the young patient's bedside, glancing up and down at his body. If he hadn't so clearly seen 'male' marked in his chart, the young boy could almost of been mistaken flawlessly for a female. His thin and wiry frame was almost swallowed by the bed, and the doctor tried to at least vaguely smile so he wouldn't seem so intimidating.

"I'm just here to make sure you're okay. Do you mind if I have a seat?"

He nodded at Jun-Yi before looking at Dr. Jansen, his smiling diminishing slightly. It wasn't that he hated people his own age; he just prefered children. They didn't care one way or another about peole being polite, the way adults did.

He followed Dr. Jansen into the room and pulled the door shut, leaning against the wall next to it. He technically wasn't suppose to be there but he liked Jun and he hoped his prescene made the kid a bit more comfortable.

Hmm, now what was this? The Doctor had to sit down? From the beginning, that didn't sound good. Thin lips drew into a white line, and he gave a short nod, along with the reply. "Sure." The bed was big enough for his paranoia to settle in on, and he couldn't help but to almost flinch away from the two, to the inner-side of the bed.

Once he was at Jun-Yi's bedside, he took a set down beside him. Glancing over at Heracles, he thought back on what Arthur had said about having nurses follow him around to make sure he wasn't ever... exhibiting inappropriateness around children. Perhaps Arthur hadn't been lying after all...

Usually children's rooms were filled with toys and flowers and the like, but everything seemed so much more somber in here. "So you've been working with Jun-Yi then, mister Karpusi?" The doctor looked back down at the small boy, offering out his hand.

"How do you feel today? Do you mind if I check your pulse?"

He stared back at Dr. Jansen, trying to work out the look. Then remembered the talk Dr. Kirkland had given him. He doubted that Dr. Jansen really needed a nurse to watch him at all times, but if it let him stay to look over Jun-Yi he would take advantage of it.

"Yes, I have. I showed him around the courtyard jsut this afternoon." He answered, refusing to acknowledge that he hadn't known who Jun-Yi was before this afternoon.

He looked to Jun-Yi and offered a smile, noticing the way he nearly flinched away from Dr. Jansen. That made him like the doctor a tiny bit less.

Blinking twice, the Chinese-English offered the Doctor his hand, dropping it into the other's warm ones before looking at the other man sincerely. "Y-You can measure my pulse with my wrist?" He asked, not at all familiar with hospitalization or even medicals. He just shifted his head to the left a little, then glanced at Heracles, licking his lips. "I thought, you... Take off your shirt and then feel the pulse on the chest." He moved his other hand, pointing to the unbutton shirt of his, then to the skin underneath.

"Here." He let his right hand, the hand that hadn't been offered, and let it rest on his chest.

"The courtyard, hm? Sounds like you two had a fun time." He murmured. It often was a nice little escape from the confines of the hospital, but the most Willem would do was go out there for a patient or sometimes eat lunch. Quickly turning his attention back to the young boy, he gently wiped his thumb across the cold skin in his hand.

How absolutely adorable he was, the dark hair framing his face, and the way his tongue licked across his lips... And that ever so innocent tone as he asked his question.

"Well... You can measure a pulse many ways." Letting go of the hand in his own, he reaches up to press two fingers against his neck, just under the jaw. "You can even feel it all the way up here. But you can't get a very good pulse by the chest..." Reaching his hand down, he gently enveloped his own over the small hand. No matter how intensely Heracles may watch him, this couldn't look all that bad, could it?

"Would you like me to teach you?"

He nodded, watching Dr. Jansen's face. He knew that the doctor didn't often venture to the courtyard and decided that that was going to be his and Jun's thing from then on. Pausing, he looked over his thought and wondered why he was acting jealous.

Then he looked over to Jun and Dr Jansen, seeing the way they were touching. Normally that wouldn't make him upset - it was normal after all - but the look in Dr. Jansen's eyes annoyed him. Maybe Arthur was right...He moved just the slightest bit forward, frowning.

Tension.

Even though Jun-Yi was merely, a twelve-year-old boy, he knew tension when it was there, due to being surrounded by it for a long period of his childhood time. Gulping right when the fingers draped against his neck and jawline, he knew that the Doctor would be able to feel the little bump the gulp caused. But, why were the adults so stiff right there? It was definitely a interesting thing, and he almost forgot to reply from all the thinking. Sparing a small, light smile, he nodded. "I'd love to hear about it. I want to be a Doctor when I grow up too, so I can save lots of lives, you know?" He stole another glance to Heracles, to make sure he was still there.

This was becoming a bit awkward, to be honest. The teen didn't know specifically what to do, so he just lay shock-still, nodding sometimes. Jun-Yi didn't know why, but his heartbeat was now a bit more faster than before. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Heracles come a step closer with a frown etched on his otherwise handsome face.

Forgotten, his sentence lay forgotten. He cleared his throat, then meeped out. "Y-Yes, we had fun."

"It's good to have fun. Just don't wear yourself out too much." He gave a small, genuine smile as the boy spoke about wanting to be a doctor when he grew up. Even though in his line of work he rarely was the deciding factor between life and death, but it was good that the other still had the little stubborn sense of innocence.

"Then you should know you don't take a pulse with your thumb. Just these two fingers. Right, mister Karpusi?" After addressing the Grecian, he gently curled in Jun-Yi's other fingers, leaning down closer to him. Holding up his hand, he pressed the Chinese-English boy's fingers to his own neck, figuring he'd have an easier time finding it on someone else. "That's the carotid artery. It brings most of the blood to your brain. And then you have to count."

With his unoccupied hand, he placed two fingers lightly below Jun-Yi's neck, dragging them downwards and fighting his hardest in his mind to just consider everything professional. No matter how soft his skin was... "This is right above the heart. You can count here, too. It's called the apical pulse. Apical and carotid are big words, do you think you can remember them?"

He smiled and moved closer until he was leaning against the wall just next to Jun's bed. He was happy that Jun had such a goal; it suited the boy he thought and the innocence in that statement made him happy.

He nodded in agreement to Dr. Jansen's words, watching the two of them closely. His eye narrowed when he noticed just how the doctor was teaching, but he could understand that a hands on approach would be helpful.

It was the look in Dr. Jansen's eyes that pissed him off. He could see the struggle there, and the fact that Dr. Jansen needed to have a struggle like that at all around a young boy was truly horrible. Even if Jun was cute...No! It was horrible.

"I promise I won't." Okay, so that could have been a slight lie. Jun-Yi, however quiet he was on the outside, loved challenges and adventures on the inside; although, almost no one knew of that factor. Everything in his mind shattered, though, when the other Doctor leaned in closer to him. The teen didn't really know what to do, and furthermore, Willem smelled nice. Some type of cologne, but it had this special scent of him. It didn't smell like the Nurses, or the Hospital's fake cleanliness. Just, Dr. Jansen and Dr. Jansen alone.

"M-Mmhmm, cartoid artery brings the blood to the ... Brain." Whew, this wasn't as easy as he would have hoped it for, but he was learning something, and for that he was grateful. But when the blonde's touches continued, he sucked in a breath he didn't know he was holding and blew it out in one, big whoosh. Sheepishly, he nodded and looked at both, biting his lower lip in concentration. "Apical pulse can be ... Er, it's near the chest."

Jun-Yi brushed some brown hair away from his eyes and understandingly glanced at both of them. "Sure I can remember those." A pause, then he added, pulling Wish from his nightstand, "Wish and I thank you."

"That's a very good boy." He'd had no time to really assess the boy's personality yet. Going off by the short meeting and the scribbles in his chart, he was quickly getting a soft spot for the poor kid. Nodding in encouragement as Jun-Yi began to ramble off what he'd just taught him.

There was something just too innocent and cute of him stumbling slightly on the words that made Willem smile. "Yes. That's exactly right. Below my fingers right here is your heart..." Too vaguely flustered to even pay attention to catching his pulse rate, the doctor let go of his hand while at the same time letting the one on his chest linger. The only reason he finally pulled it away was when Jun-Yi went to grab for the panda, and he curled his fingers into a fist with a small chuckle.

"Oh? This little fellow's name is Wish, then?" It wasn't uncommon at all for a kid to cling to a stuffed animal 24-7 in the children's ward, so he hadn't been surprised at all to find one at his bedside. Tentatively he reached out and patted the plush on the top of it's head, before briefly doing the same to Jun-Yi just for a chance to feel his silky dark hair. "You're very welcome. So, Jun-Yi, tell me... How does your body feel today?"

With Heracles there at least, he should ask at least one relative question.

Heracles smiled, getting the feeling that Jun might have been lying just then. He watched the dotor lean closer to Jun and had to admit that Jun's stumbling over his sentences was adorable. He stared at Dr. Jansen, tilting his head to the side at his smile. It made him look...handsome, for lack of a better word.

He frowned, wishing that Dr. Jansen would stop touching the younger boy. He knew that, logically, the doctor was suppose to as to make sure that Jun was okay, but he wasn't doing it for that reason.

He nodded at Wish, inwardly sighing in relief when Dr. Jansen finally asked a relative question. Sure, they're interactions were cute - and infuriating - but Dr. Jansen was suppose to be making sure that Jun was okay.

"Mmhmm, his name is Wish." Jun-Yi nodded as best as he could before looking at both, gulping again. Fiddling with the hem of his sleeves, he watched as the Doctor petted Wish, then felt the other's hand sift through his own, chocolate-brown, soft hair. As much as he didn't try to, his kitten tendencies kicked in there. Purring lowly in his throat, he nuzzled the hand, as if he was leaning into the touch. After realizing what he did, he inched a little off, giving the most sheepish look anyone could have seen from the usually quiet and calm boy, Jun gave a polite smile.

"I feel okay, but... I er..." He didn't know if he should say it or not; maybe he was just hallucinating or something, but... He did want to say it, the teen did. But what if he would be laughed at, since it wasn't all that big? Didn't Doctors and Nurses take care of others, too? Taking in a breath, the Chinese-English licked his lips before saying, "I don't think this is... Oya, it's kind of late and you should be going, right?" Desperation could be heard slipping out of the tone, but he didn't notice.

"I see these... Awkward sparkling things in my eyes when I close them." There, he had said it. As if the prove it, he closed his eyes for a millisecond before opening them again, chewing on the side of his cheek. "Although, it's nothing! Sorry for er --" He paused, blinking, giving the one smile that showed signs of hesitation. "-- bothering you?"

"Wish is a very cute name." And it was unbelievably cute the way that the young boy practically purred at his touch. That was something he'd definitely have to remember, just to hear that adorable sound and see the sheepish look again. He really shouldn't get so much joy from seeing a child flustered, and he was well aware of that, but it was better than doing other things, right?

As Jun-Yi began to speak again, he rested his hand down carefully ontop of the small boy's arm. Trying to get him to relax, his briefly looked down at his watch for a moment. It definitely was getting late and he probably should be going, but all of that was beside the point right now. "It's okay. I have all the time in the world for you right now." Perhaps saying something calming to him would make him fess up anything that was on his mind.

Nodding as the Chinese-English boy began to speak of sparkling things, he began to reach for the pen in his pocket. Pulling it out, he reached again for the chart to scribble something quickly as he flipped it open. "Thank you for telling me, Jun-Yi. Even if you think it's nothing, knowing things like this is very important. Is there anything else?" Setting the pen down, he returned to lean back over to Jun-Yi, carefully brushing his left hand against his forehead to brush his hair back, leaning until he was almost touching noses with him as he tilted Jun-Yi's head back very slightly.

Checking his eye carefully, he couldn't see any immediate physical abnormalities. Very gently he placed his thumb near his upper eyelid, barely pulling it upwards just to make sure. "Looks fine..." Willem murmured, sighing softly before letting his hand go. "I'll set you up with an optometrist tomorrow. It's a special doctor who works with the eyes." Again to his embarrassment, he found it hard to pull away again and he hoped that Heracles wasn't scrutinizing him too heavily and noticing the lingering looks and touches.

Leaning back away, he refused to even look over at Heracles. Unable to do much more about it at the current moment, he looked down to the chart again before turning his head back to Jun-Yi. "And how are your legs feeling?"

He smiled slightly, listening to Jun purr. The kid was absolutely adorable, and Heracles was fighting the urge to just pick him up and smoother him. Beyond the fact that made him sound like an old woman, Jun probably wouldn't appreciate it.

"It okay, Jun, we're here for you." He said, nodding at the boy. He wanted to move closer, but he also didn't want to crowd the boy. He frowned, thinking over the what Jun said and trying to see if he could place it. Of course, since there was little to go off of and he didn't know anything about eyes medically, he would have to concede to Dr. Jansen's judgement here.

He frowned at the way Dr. Jansen seemed reluctant to stop touching Jun, and he kept his face carefully blank so as to not upset Jun. However, once they left that room Dr Jansen was going to be in trouble. Big time.

"I hope it is." Jun piped up from his bed as he chewed on his lower lip thoughtfully, wondering if he should tell them the information or not. After a moment of quick hesitation, the boy continued. "I er, bought Wish with my own money, and..." He looked at his trusty black and white companion with a slight smile, then looked back at both. "I wished on Wish that I could be somewhere where people thought and cared for me." The smile grew a bit deeper as he added, "It came true, didn't it?" Coyly, the teen stared at Willem in the eyes with a look that said, 'And I'm forever glad.'

Although his facade had been a bit too strong, it had fallen the exact moment the Doctor leaned in to brush some soft, chocolate-brown hair away from his forehead to look into his eyes instead, and he couldn't help but to rub his nose with the other's in a movement of almost, surrender. If someone came close to him, he would rub their noses, whoever it could be. An animal, a human being, something, he would rub noses. In a way, it was Jun-Yi's odd yet, a bit of endearing greeting. Instead of a handshake or a hug or a kiss, he would rub noses. A nose-kiss, is what he would have called him. A light sheen of pink dusted upon his face, and the Chinese-English blinked as the Doctor let go, nodding. His words and thoughts froze up as soon as the other mentioned something about a optometrist, and he could have sworn, his heart, for a moment, stopped completely.

Catching his breath, with a look of total hopelessness, Jun-Yi turned his gaze upon both, flitting one person to another -- the spiky haired Doctor, to the brown, soft-haired Nurse. Back and forth, his chocolate-auburn eyes flitted. A moment later, Wish was nestled upon his chest tightly as the teen held onto the plush's paws and chest. "A-A another d-doctor, ai?" He stuttered as he rubbed his nose against the white-and-black head. "Y-You're be there, w-won't you?" The sentence made more sense now, after how Heracles said that they would be there for him. A white yet a smooth hand shot out of the covers and held onto Willem's hand, squeezing twice. Another hand reached Heracles' hand, doing the same. "D-Don't need a o-opto..." He blinked as he tried to pronounce the word. "O-Optometrist, if y-you guys are here, oya?" It was supposed to be strong, yet... It hadn't come out as he wished. It was weak, soft, and bending.

"My legs are fine..." Jun-Yi still had the look of desperation in his eyes as he said so, almost carelessly, "-- Just don't leave?" In a whisper, he had said it, everything, almost everything he had hidden in his heart. Don't go, don't leave me alone, don't leave this all to me... I'm not strong enough. Don't let me fend this, all by myself...!

Wishing upon... Wish? How very strange it all sounded, but he listened carefully to the boy's every last word. What a hopeful, innocent little heart he must have, and it nearly broke Willem's to hear his story. With a soft sigh, he looked down at the little stuffed panda, nodding slightly before meeting his eyes again. It was such a stunning little look that he had a hard time once more not touching him once more. Luckily he'd had years to practise restraint, and it was definitely being put into use now. "You're absolutely right. It came true... Everyone here cares for you, Jun-Yi."

When he'd been inspecting his eye, so very close and yet seeming so far from touching and Jun-Yi actually took the initiative to almost nuzzle against his nose it seemed, again the doctor just wanted to melt. How innocent and how mature could someone seem all at once? It should of been a crime or a taboo, just something, something kept far from him. Willem took a deep breath, forcing down a gulp of air, hopefully unnoticed as to how stiff his body had gotten.

He looked worried slightly when Jun-Yi started to panic, looking back and forth between him and the nurse. It hadn't been his intentions at all to make him upset in any way, but it was obviously he was visibly distressed as he pulled the little animal closer. "Ja, another doctor... It won't be bad though, I promise. If you'd like me to be there... I could.. try to be." Glancing down at the hand that reached out for his, he quickly enveloped his larger hand around the smaller one, rubbing the back of it with his thumb soothingly. "All he will do is look at your eyes really quickly. I just want to make sure you're okay."

Oh, this one was going to kill him, he was certain. If Heracles hadn't been there, he would have promptly swept Jun-Yi up into his arms, yet instead all Willem could do was gently sigh. Placing his other hand on top of the brunette's hand he already had, he firmly nodded to the small boy. "I could stay with you for a while, if you like." It was bordering dangerous to suggest such a thing, but he couldn't help it. "It won't be scary, I promise..."

He smiled, finding the story cute and slightly worrying. That a young child had to buy his own stuffed animal was wrong. The boys parent's should have done that. He nodded, moving closer again. "Yes, it did." He commented, looking between Jun and Willem, noticing the look Jun had given the older man.

He stared as Jun brushed his nose against Willem's and he almost cooed over how adorable that was. He could tell that Willem liked the gesture too, given the way he tensed up like that. He fidgeted a little in his spot, his eyes widening as a panicked look came over Jun's face. His hand was grabbed and squeezed twice. "Yes, of course I'll be there." He couldn't refuse the boy, with the look on his face. He thought back to his other paitents and decided to ask around and see if anyone could take care of them while he was with Jun. He normally wouldn't do that but Jun pulled on his heart strings like no other; the boy had him wrapped around his little finger.

Ignoring Willem's presence, he leaned foreward and pressed a kiss to Jun's temple. "I won't leave." He promised, running the fingers of his free hand through Jun's hair. He couldn't leave this boy, this innocent person, by himself. He just couldn't do it.

"B-But..." Oh, he disliked this. Jun-Yi didn't like -- no, he didn't want any other Doctors or Nurses! He liked the ones he met so far, like Doctor Kirkland and his nice Intern, and now, Doctor ... Er, what was his name again? Jun-Yi's mind was fuzzy because of the time, and he racked his brain for that name of the Doctor that was with him now, patting his hand, rubbing it in calm circles. ... Since he couldn't remember, the Chinese-English boy decided to name him, with adoration, Doctor Orange. There it goes, it was perfect! Hiding a small smile underneath the covers, he just looked up at both, closing one eye as Nurse Heracles kissed his temple. Nuzzling the hand with his head like he always did when someone petted his hair, he let a small sound of contentedness roll out of his throat, then paused. Well, there went his plan of keeping the two with him, forever and and ever and ever and ever!

Cough, cough. Jun-Yi harrumphed quietly and held to their hands, his voice still not so happy with the idea. "D-Do I have to go to the o-opto... Optometrist?" He sighed, jutting out his lower lips just so. He didn't want to go, but... Oh, if they offered to come, then of course he would -- what was with that idea? He was supposed to be pouting. Continuing to do so, he raised his eyes to both of them and squeezed the hands he were holding, letting go of Wish as he did so. That showed how much he liked them; and even though Wish was very important to him in his life and the fact Wish was his only companion, the two were of the utmost importance. "Then... You have to go with me. That's the only -- " His face took on a mask of surprise, and fear. "Y-You won't use any medicine o-or any drugs to make me go to d-dream-world, r-right?"
