(Starting in this RP on New Zealand's national day/Will's birthday. What are the odds? XD)
Kia ora koutou, I'm your new New Zealand!
My name is Jen, and I'm from New Zealand (why yes, I live in the future. XD). I work full-time, am somewhat sport-mad (I may randomly talk about rugby every so often), and when I'm not RPing I'm writing fics, playing video games, spending time with family/friends, and I sandwich in sleep somewhere in between. ^^
Also, here's one of NZ's unofficial national anthems since I am boring and this song is much-loved by people here:

Welcome to the Hospitalia forum!!
You actually come from the country you're RPing? That's so cool!!!
That NZ song is really interesting ^_^
Hope you have fun here (and Happy Birthday/Waitangi Day too!!!)

I don’t know why I find it cute that you’re from New Zealand, but I do.
No, actually I had a slight obsession with New Zealand several years ago and the country is still very high on my “to-go-to-when-I-actually-have-money-list”.
I love it when people RP their own country (do it myself as well, just not here XD). It can give just a little more depth to the character, since you actually know what it’s like to live there.
Anyway, welcome here~
And that song made me happy. ouo

It's very well-known here, and was used last year in the movie "Boy". There was even a campaign to make it the #1 downloaded songs on iTunes NZ, and they were successful. <3

Cool! Where are you from? Agreed on the depth part especially when a character doesn't have much/any canon to go on. For NZ all I can get from the one panel appearance is that he's more calm and quiet than Australia, and that's not really much. XD

Zeaaaaa~
Hey, there, it's Kiku from Lockdown! Nice to see you here! c:
I already knew you were from New Zealand, but I still think it's cool. I love meeting people from other countries, especially when they roleplay the country they're from.
Welcome to Hospitalia~!

Hey, thanks for the welcome! <3 What's it like playing as Yong Soo for a change? He's quite different to how you play Kyu personality-wise. ^^

You're welcome. <3
I haven't really gotten a lot of time playing him yet, but from the various derping I've done with Yong Soo in various chatboxes, it's not too hard. I'm just telling myself, "Whatever Kyu would do, do the opposite." xD As a general rule, that seems to be working pretty well for me.

I'm from the Netherlands. XD He doesn't have that much of a canon personality either, so there's a lot I can fill in with my headcanon when I play him.

Hurray for headcanon! Do you like seeing other people's interpretations of the Netherlands? I like seeing other people's idea of NZ (only one has made me go "D:" which is pretty good). ^^
@ Feli: Cheers for the welcome, and thanks! It was hard to find a casual pic of NZ for the avatar without a sheep, but I found one! ^^

Yeah, I like to see someone else's take on the guy. It's also a chance to expand my headcanon. I like to stalk Netherlands applications, and just like in your case, only one has made me go "D:" so far, so that's good~ (that one was just really....... no.)

The one that made me go "D:" was a NZ with no indication of having the will to fight, and it clung to England and America. I could've handled the clinging, but not the lack of fighting spirit. You don't be a nation with a past of having a warrior culture and completely lack the will to fight in my opinion, but perhaps that's just me. XD

Yeah, I read a lot about the Maori and all. They're hardcore. I once had my dad paint me Maori style tattoos on my face for a holiday in the region I live, when everybody dresses up. With me it came off with water, but you gotta have guts to do that to your face when it doesn't. So I don't see New Zealand as someone who wouldn't have any fighting spirit either.
The Netherlands that made me go "D:" I didn't actually RP with, I wasn't even on that board, but their application was enough to do the trick. It was a historical RP, but it was clear they knew nearly nothing about the history of the Netherlands. And his personality was basically "He smokes a lot, he parties a lot and he's drunk all the time." There really wasn't any depth to the character.

A historical RP? D: For that you've got to have depth so you can handle the character at different points in their lifetime! I mean, how the nation is in the present isn't necessarily how they would've been a century or two ago, you know? ^^

Yes, I agree. But it does come in handy to know their history, even if the RP takes place in the present. Then you know why they became the way they were and why they have such a good/bad relationship with certain others. It was mostly the personality that bugged me though, rather than the lack of historical knowledge .
You're fun to talk to. To bad I'll most likely never catch you online in the cbox because of the 12 hour time difference... >_>;;

Yes! Personality helps bring the character to life. You can have everything else accurate as, but if the personality is off and everyone knows it they are going to have trouble RPing with the character.
Today I gotta post and run (I have to be at work in 40 minutes), but Sunday morning my time could work provided I can wake up early enough. ^^
