| Really. Coffee should be a necessary part of life; it was all that kept him awake nowadays as he shuffled through the hallways (he wasn't even a surgeon, or a doctor, or someone that dealt with things remotely close to exhaustion; no, he just spent too much time playing video games) of the staff room, eagerly awaiting that one white door that would reveal the grand prize of two beds that he could take a nap on inside. So fucking -what- if someone else was already there; he didn't particularly care much in the first place, and when he finally gripped the doorknob and opened up, he was elated to see that both beds were perfectly empty. Stealing the pillow off of the one on the right side of the room, he placed it on top of the one on the left (his preferred choice of sleeping position), and immediately flopped down on top of it, sighing when he felt the cool bedding hit his back. Not that the beds were fancy or anything -- they were mere standard materials, but that was better than nothing, which he got most of the time when he was here working overtime (it was either that or fall asleep on the ultrasound bench, which kind of sucked when the women came in and thought a rapist was asleep on their examination table.)
He sighed some and rolled over onto his side, staring at cool white walls that resembled big snowy bricks. Now that he had gotten what he wanted, he wasn't tired; so he decided to stare up at the ceiling with his hands behind his head. That entertained him for about ten minutes, so after that he pulled a candy bar out of the pocket of his scrubs pants, gnawing on the delicious Snickers for about thirty seconds before getting some of it stuck in his teeth, upon which he promptly threw it away. Was there really absolutely nothing to do around here? At all?

| Sometimes the bad thing about being a bordering 30 year old guy with no family on the same continent and having nothing to go home to but a rabbit and a garden was... exactly that. He really had no reason to go home, especially since he knew his little rabbit would be just fine at home for a few hours at least. Willem still had a patient floating around who was very touch and go at the moment, so it didn't even make sense to leave and have to possibly commute all the way back.
So when he headed into the staff room, he was rather tired and ready to get at least an hour or two of shuteye. Shrugging off his jacket, he placed it over his arm as he started to loosen his necktie. It was never particularly fun to sleep in one, he was always slightly worried he'd end up getting strangled or something. When he opened the door, he was a little surprised to see that someone else was already in there.
Setting down his coat on the unoccupied bed, he shut the door behind him. Quietly Willem headed to the bed and sat down, unlacing his shoes as well as he glanced at the other occupant. Noticing he was awake, he couldn't help but at least acknowledge him.
"...Good evening." | |

| Regner was halfway in the process of digging his Snickers out of the trash can (as he had decided that he wanted it after all) when one of the older (ancient) doctors walked into the room. He recognized him as one of the people dealing with the pediatrics field; he'd worked with him maybe... once? When some little girl around five had had something wrong with her chest, and an ultrasound had been needed. The man had honestly intimidated him, but Regner had talked to him more than a few times, and one time had even gotten him coffee, so he assumed that they were on relatively good terms. He hadn't hit, snarked, or done anything offensive to him at all (yet), so they -had- to be on good terms. He sprung back when he retrieved his candy bar, the chocolate still sticking out of his mouth as he looked at the blonde.
Taking it out of his mouth, he smiled some at him, nodding a little hello and saying quite plainly, "Evening!" Placing the candy bar back -in- his mouth, he sucked on it a little bit, and his eyes were immediately drawn downwards to the man's crotch. Then to his ass. Then to his thighs. Then back up to his face.

| Shifting around his coat on the end of the bed so he could place his shoes down below them, Willem hadn't really noticed at first that the other had dug the candybar back out. He vaguely recognized him as someone he'd seen around and thought that it was a shame how their profession would probably tire and wear him out prematurely.
It felt a bit too awkward to him to just lay down when someone else was there, so he examined the Danish man quietly for a few moments. Willem raised an eyebrow at the candy that he returned right back to placing in his mouth, his eyes flickering over to the trashcan.
"Er... ...Biorn, right?" He muttered, not commenting on the candy... yet. The older man didn't even care as he was not-so-subtely looked over, placing both hands beside him to grip the mattress edges. "What are you doing in here?" It hadn't looked like the answer was sleeping, at least.

| He finished the candy bar, looking at him and smiling slightly when he talked to him. Normally people thought he was rather... far too odd to talk to willingly, so whenever anybody -did- decide to talk to him, he felt rather important. For some odd reason. Grinning some, he rolled over onto his stomach, propping himself up on his elbows. "Yep, Biorn. And you're... Jansen? Right, right?" At the sleeping question, he blinked and tilted his head.
"... well, I kinda pulled an all-nighter the other night... and the night after that. So coffee and Monsters have been keeping me awake the past two days. And today, in fact. So I -was- going to come in here and try to sleep, but then I noticed that the ceiling was a rather bright shade of white, and I didn't feel like getting up and turning the lights off, so... I'm not sleeping."

| Willem wondered if maybe the seemingly almost skittish man had ADHD or something. He didn't seem to very well be able to sit still, at least. Taking off his tie and setting it over his jacket, he nodded. "Willem Jansen. You'd be right."
He listened to the other man ramble on for a few minutes, tilting his head and staring at him quietly. When the ceiling was mentioned, he glanced upwards, nodding in slight agreement that it did seem to be awful bright. "Well, why didn't you just shut off the light?" Tilting his head back, he stared at the spikey-haired man.
"..you're probably just overexhausted. Really, getting so little sleep..." It sounded like he was lecturing the poor man. "You should take better care of yourself."

| "Yeah, I guess you're right. I don't wanna end up a patient here if I -work- here already, after all~" He ignored the lights comment; it made him feel stupid, and he didn't like feeling stupid. The only reason he had been all-nighters -anyway- was because of video games, not work; he shouldn't have hooked a Wii up to one of the TV's in the break room and locked the door and put a 'CUSTODIAL WORK; DO NOT ENTER' sign on the door and played for eighteen hours straight. Ah, well. It had been a Sunday, things were all well and good.
Willem must have had a good iron at home, he thought, as his clothes seemed perfectly neat and straight minus the wrinkles they'd had from his placing them on the end of the bed. He always had tended to overanalyze things.

| "Exactly. Especially if you ended up here over something you did yourself. Something that could have been easily prevented... Why were you staying up so much anyways?" The Dutchman finally leaned back onto the bed, laying on his back while still uneasily watching the other. It took him a few more moments before he could relax and calm down, a deep sigh escaping his lips.
"You should be getting at least six hours of sleep, if nothing else a night. I remember pulling all-nighters in med school. It wasn't ever fun..." Feeling oddly a bit sociable, he turned his head, staring steadily over at the Dane. Crossing his arms over his chest, he spoke up again. "So where are you from?"
