Sunset on the Fifth Floor (Roderich and Ivan)

Be his friend for the time being? Ivan nearly turned around but stopped himself before that happened.

"NO," He stated firmly, tightening his grip on the sheets. He didn't want to! "Because... Well, because... I don't..." He trailed off, biting his lip. What if he got too close?! No, he'd already made up his mind, he won't become friends with anyone else! He could only ever trust his sister because she would never abandon him or something like that...

His head felt funny - again. Ivan panted, his eyes rolling into the back of his head. He felt dizzy, so dizzy, and... And what else? Ivan didn't think there was anything else... Just blackness... And he was out.

Roderich reached out to Ivan, then paused and sighed as he blacked out. Well, his attempt to fix the situation obviously had ended beautifully. Great, just great.

He retrieved some of the nearby monitors for blood pressure and the like and hooked them up to Ivan, shifting him onto his side as well as he watched the readouts. It looked as though Ivan had low blood pressure...though not distressingly low, and that would surely improve with time. Roderich picked up Ivan's chart and jotted down a quick note to Kiku as to what had happened tonight.

He lingered there, watching the monitors until Ivan started to stir, and then decided it'd be best to slip out of the room before he hurt Ivan's feelings any more. Well, with any luck, Ivan would forget about him. Perhaps he would peek into Ivan's room to check on him sometime tomorrow, to satisfy his own curiosity and concerns, but...he didn't really want to go through a personal conversation again.

Ivan slowly moaned, opening his eyes. Had he passed out? He saw the white walls of the hospital and sat up slowly. He had something on his wrist which he didn't want to have, yet there it was. Spotting a doctor with brown hair, he turned to him.

"You. Take this off. Right now," He commanded, putting on his best glower. However, that fell while he stared at the man. "Do I... know you?" He asked, squinting. The man looked so familiar it wasn't even funny! He stood up, wobbling, and stared at the man.

So much for subtly slipping out. Roderich resisted the urge to facepalm and went back up to Ivan, briskly removing the monitors and giving him a light push back towards the bed.

"Lie down and rest," he ordered, dodging the question. "I don't want you passing out again before your doctor comes in to see you tomorrow morning."

With that, he turned his back, trying to make a quick escape from the room. Geez, this was enough for tonight...

Ivan lay back down, waiting until the man was out of the room before sliding out of bed and grabbing his crutch. He peeked through the door and watched the man's retreating back. He was intrigued with this man, and wanted to know more about him, so once he was certain that the man was not paying attention, he limped along after him, silently. The closer he got, the more he could tell about the man.

1. He was a clean freak. There was a bottle of sanitiser in his pocket and a packet of tissues sticking out of his doctor's coat.

2. He worked there. That went without saying, really.

2. He was from a posh back-ground. Maybe. Possibly. It's not like everyone with moles and posh-looking hair came from families with lots of money. All the same.

Ivan crept closer and slipped his hand in the pocket with the tissue, pulling it out. He left a trail of them behind him as he walked, knowing it would seriously piss the guy off.

Roderich actually managed not to notice for some time, until he happened to slip his hand into his pocket and note that the tissues were gone. He sighed, debated for a moment whether it'd even be worth it to bother, and then turned around....

...and gaped at the trail leading from him, some distance down the hall.

Sure enough, there was Ivan beside him, again. Goodness, his patience was really starting to run out. He couldn't keep the anger out of his voice as he rounded on him.

"What the heck are you doing?! Didn't you hear what I told you! Get back to your room!"
